Yesterday evening, I received a call from my brother Deborishi Rajkhowa. After some usual chit chats, we pivoted to some serious discussions. What started as a simple inquiry about tools to learn PLM quickly blossomed into an expansive conversation covering a range of interconnected topics that fuel both product success and project delivery.
We delved into the Product Life Cycle and its critical role in shaping strategies from conception to market exit. The discussion naturally flowed into Project Management—particularly how the principles of effective project oversight ensure that every phase of the product life cycle is executed flawlessly. We also touched upon the intricacies of Supply Chain Management, emphasizing how seamless coordination and strategic planning are essential for product success.
Our conversation took an exciting turn when we began discussing Ricardo Viana Vargas, Ph.D.'s PMBOK6 video on YouTube https://lnkd.in/d73U_sDi which led us into an in-depth analysis of Stakeholder Management. We explored tools like the Power-Influence and Interest Matrix and RACI charts to better understand how different stakeholders can make or break a project. Dependecy Management, Risk Management, Conflict Management, Schedule Management, Escalation Matrics are also areas that we touched upon.
We even reminisced about how these principles played out during our sister's wedding planning, demonstrating the universal application of these concepts.
To make the discussion relatable, we considered examples ranging from something as simple as a safety pin to more complex items like automobiles and bike helmets. We reflected on how Project Sponsors play a pivotal role in steering projects towards success, much like how a bride and groom ensure the success of a wedding!
In conclusion, we found ourselves in awe of how deeply intertwined Project Management, Product Lifecycle Management, Supply Chain Management, and Go-to-Market Strategies are, all contributing to economic impact. It feels great to have these conversations at times.
